CONGRATULATIONS TO ARCHBISHOP FORTUNATUS NWACHUKWU

Following the appointment of Msgr. Fortunatus Nwachukwu, former Chief of Protocol at the Holy See's Secretariat of State, as Apostolic Nuncio to Nicaragua by Pope Benedict XVI, He will be ordained a bishop on 6 January along with Georg Gänswein and Angelo Vincenzo Zani

Msgr. Fortunatus Nwachukwu was born in Eziama Ntigha, Isiala Ngwa North L.G.A Abia State, Nigeria in 1960 and ordained a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Aba in 1984.

He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1994 and has served, among other places, in Ghana, Paraguay and Algeria.
